Blankets for Christmas 2016

I can post these now since they've already been gifted and opened and loved!

My favorite was making a lap size blanket for my grandma out of my grandpa's shirts.  She loved it.  

 I had my sister and her girls for Christmas.  I made them each a quillow.

I had fun with this one--I love Halloween fabric!

Bringing the past back!

I used to cross stitch all the time when I was younger.  I think I stopped after my second child was born!  But--I'm bringing it back!  Something to do if I'm watching tv or just need something to get my mind off of things.  

And it helps if you have something to make too!

Right now I'm working on the one for Spring.  Figure if I start now it will be finished before Spring! :)

Sewing when I shouldn't....

My son leaves next week for his two year mission in Peru.  I should be helping him get ready--and I am but I've been distracting myself with some projects!

 and made myself a swing machine cover--finally!!!!

I have a list of projects to do but I've told myself they have to wait till my son leaves and then I can have things to keep my mind distracted!

So, I am alive and not sure if anyone even looks at my sewing blog anymore but I've decided I need to put my projects up!  Of course, I haven't taken pictures of all my projects nor have I had any time to do any!  So sad-- but it's been summer and I've been able to get things done!

 Last Christmas I made my mom a blanket with her dads' flannel shirts.  My grandpa died in December 2013 so doing this felt great.  I'm actually working on another.  

One of my favorite quilts to make!  I love to read--so quite fitting!  

 made these bags for teachers when my youngest was in Kindergarten--she's going into third.....

 another pinterest idea.  Made this for my nieces for Christmas last year, or maybe it was the year before...

 I started this quilt years ago!!!  It felt so good to get it done.  My mother in law quilted my last three quilts for me. 

 Another favorite.  Love these colors.

 I joined this monthly surprise box that comes in the mail from The Fat Quarter Shop.  This month was my first box and I was so excited to open it.  Came with this fabric and pattern for a table runner. Just need to get batting, backing and then bind it.  

 and another on my to finish list.... We just redid our room and these are the colors.  The top is done, just need to finish the rest and I'll probably quilt it myself since it's small.  

Kids go back to school next week and you would think I would have more time on my hands.  I'll try to be better about posting my projects.  I really want to put them all in a book someday!
