I've been PINNING....

To Pintrest that is!  It's a bit addicting and I have a ton of projects and ideas that are on my to do list.

Here are two wreaths I made this week.  The Fall one is made with a swim noodle.  I cut it to the size I wanted it and duct taped it.  Cheap!  Then wrapped yarn all the way, around and around.... took awhile.

The Christmas one is made all from paper.  I really liked how it turned out.  It was fun to make and to talk with some awesome ladies at the same time.

I already have another Christmas wreath in mind and can't wait to get started.  Pretty soon I'll have wreaths for every door in the house.

Rock On!

Awhile ago I found this idea HERE
and I thought how cool it would be to make one for my son who plays the guitar! It got bookmarked and then forgotten about until he came to me with two bandannas and asked if I would cover his guitar strap. Like asked EVERY DAY if I had made it yet... The link didn't have directions on how to make it so I just went for it. It was actually pretty easy once I got it taken apart, cut up the two bandannas, sewed two strips, sewed them together to make a tube and threaded the guitar strap through and then put it all back together. I told him that if this one falls apart (cause he's such the rocker) that I would make another one...(better, because I know what I'm doing!)

Here it is on his guitar! It was nice to have a project started and then finished real quick!

Now he's asking for a bandanna tie... seriously!

hmmm that makes me wonder... did I ever post my bandanna tablecloth on here?

EASIEST SKIRT EVER!!

I found the directions for this skirt HERE!

The easiest skirt ever! I LOVED the little pleat in the front and there's only elastic in the back. I made two of these in an hour. I've already been through my scraps to make her some more. Even bought more of the above fabric to make my 10 year old daughter one just like this. (I also have a skirt in this fabric-- how cute, we'll be triplets!)

She had so much fun being my model!

Here's the proof!

"Oh yeah, I'm cute even without my hair being done"

I'm now addicted to these skirts!

SKIRTS!

It's only been FOREVER since I posted on this blog! With the ending of school, trying to get a routine for summer and then getting sick for two weeks, well....Just haven't been in the crafty mood!!

Finally-- now that I'm feeling better and summer is in full swing, hopefully now things will happen again! Starting with a new skirt for Morgan!

She picked out the fabric, I did the sewing. No pattern even!

Couple months ago some friends and I got together and tried out some elastic thread! Took an old t-shirt, cut off below the arms and then sewed row after row with the elastic thread. Pretty cool stuff

Morgan fits into one of my old shirts...

and my three year old Sydney fits into one of her sisters shirts! Love the cheap, use what you have projects!!

"Happy Days"

This little crib-size quilt was fun to do. The fabric is the "Happy" line from Moda Fabrics. I just bought two charm packs and this cute pattern. So easy!!

No idea what I'm going to do with this... maybe a gift, my two year old has her eyes on it, or it's going in the quilt closet!

Admitting One's Mistakes...

I love to do crafts! When I find something cute--just got to do it! OR if I actually think of something on my own and it actually turns out--- even better!

BUT-- there are those times (and there have been a few) where I start something and wonder where in the world it's going, or it's so hideous in the trash it goes. So, I think the first step to being a "crafter" is to have PATIENCE! The second step would have to be not being afraid to admit your mistakes! I have a HUGE issue with step number 2! Why would I want to show you my mistakes--- so I can feel stupid?

I had this idea in my head to make something that I saw (probably hanging on someones wall)
A FAMILY sign...

I took a piece of our old laminate flooring....painted it black and whipped out the cricut and the modge pod! It was turning out so cute...
Flippin' idiot-- guess I was just so excited how it was turning out that I can't spell... AND it took more than a day to notice, AND it wasn't just me!! I was going to hang a ribbon on the back and up on the wall it would go. Do I want to start over? Sure... I have all the time in the world!

So everyone around here is pregnant.... no joke!! So, I've been busy making car seat tents for these new babies! Very easy (unless of course they have to have those weird car seats with the funky handle....

This one was for my friend Rachel who just had a sweet little boy. I liked how it turned out with the orange thread and the polka dots! Few weeks ago I made two for a friend who recently had twins. A boy and a girl. Her husband is/was/needs to be again, my husbands hunting buddy. So, what better fabric than a pink camo and a blue camo! (of course did I take pictures before I sent them off? Well.. I don't have a car seat to show them off!!!) Maybe I'll get her to take pictures for me!

I have about seven more on the list too! Hardest part is picking out the fabric because it's all so cute!

T-shirt dress!

This is what's been going on at our house! My girls have been sick, sick, sick. My oldest went to school today but my little lady hasn't been feeling well. Today at 9:30AM she was already fast asleep. What? What do I do with myself? I've almost forgotten what's it like to have a child sleep during the day! I made her a dress! :)
I bought a t-shirt from Target, cut off a few inches. Gathered some fabric, sewed it to the shirt and hemmed it!
As soon as she woke up she saw it and said.... "did you make that?" Then asked to put it on... she assumes everything I make is for her...okay, she's right!

Looks a lot better after a nap and some food in her tummy!

Rewind about two weeks!

My little princess loves Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty... okay all of them! Instead of making her a full Cinderella dress I just went with the skirt. She LOVES it!

Something for the little boys!

What? She finally made something? She hasn't fallen off the face of the earth? (she's such a dork!)

Love talking about myself in the third person! :)

SOOO... long time no crafting! I have been busy making little bows for my little girls hair but nothing exciting has come off the sewing machine to get excited about. Although I did hem some scout pants for a guy my husband works with-- even got some Baskin Robbins money out of it! Oh wait and I made a car seat tent for a friend and her new baby boy and I made a rice bag for a friend to help with her aches and pains.... dang didn't get pictures of those-- I have no proof!

But, I made something today.. so easy and cute! It's a car holder complete with car track! Folds up nicely to take to church, car, plane, doctors......
It's for a little friend of Sydney's who we do music class with once a week-- for his birthday!

You could always make it with a figure eight track ( I tried... going to work on that) or an oval.

I found the tutorial here

Two Quilts

I've made two quilts in the last two months. My mom called a few months ago and said that she had her Christmas present picked out and that she even bought it. When she went to Hawaii she found this fabric and the pattern and asked if I would make it for her for Christmas.

No problem!!

Bright! But, I loved how it turned out!

For New Year's we made a trip to see my cousins family. We ALWAYS have a blast when we are together with them. I made them this picture quilt. I call it their BOY blanket. They have three boys and now they can snuggle together all the time!
Christmas makings are done...and the sewing machine is getting a rest---ha not for much longer I'm sure!
